Strategic planning with CCH
We all have those things in our day job that keep us awake at night. Things that, if we fail to achieve them, we may as well go home.
They might include increasing sales, profits or market share or decreasing waste. Deciding which is the most important, setting goals for the team and keeping track of performance is relatively easy. We do it all the time.
What is not so easy is changing the behaviours that will get us to the finish line. As Chris McChesney writes in The 4 Disciplines of Execution: ‘Once you’ve decided what to do, your biggest challenge is in getting people to execute it at the level of excellence you need.’
And we can’t blame employees for failure. We do the same. We might know how important diet and exercise are – perhaps the doctor has confirmed it. But after a few days or a couple of weeks, the programme quietly dies.
Having a clear goal is essential, but if we don’t focus passionately the one or two things we and the team could do to get us there, we are not going to make it.

Your guidance on keeping focussed to the point was helpful

We managed to drill down the processes to (a) few points
