
Reflecting on Simply Communicate’s recent birthday, I was struck by the importance of milestones.
When we were young, every month counted:
‘I’m five AND A HALF.’
‘I’m NEARLY SIX.’
We seem to be saying, ‘I might not be there yet, but I’m getting there!’
And those at the other end of life often do the same:
‘I’m nearly 86.’
‘I’m over 90.’
‘I’m ninety-two AND A HALF.’
Both are perhaps saying, ‘I am more than you think.’
And isn’t that what we want our customers to know? ‘There is more to us than meets the eye.’
We are more than just our sector, the goods or services we offer or the brightness of our shopfront. But do your customers know what it is? Do your employees know it, believe it and celebrate it?
