Introducing Emotional Intelligence
Wednesday, 11 May 2022
Covid-19 hit us all hard. Dealing with the stress and mental-health issues of our team requires emotional and psychological resources seldom associated with running a business. Yet these same resources can help transform our business and our teams during the best and the worst of times.
No matter how ‘rational’ we might think we are, we all experience an emotional response to every situation. Sometimes the emotions are subdued or suppressed; sometimes they are strong and affect our behaviour positively or negatively.
Emotional intelligence helps us respond more effectively to situations and people around us. We learn to process our own emotions and to engage with the emotional responses of others. We also learn to become more assertive in the way we engage.
Join Ian Webster to discuss:
- ‘Life is 10% what happens and 90% how I react to it.’ How to work on the 90%
- The four competencies of Emotional Intelligence
- Critical skills for regulating behaviour
- Becoming more assertive and improving your emotional responses
Making plans happen – planning to implement
